Faringdon Arts Festival 2010 - with a tint of Lord Berners

Welcome to Farigndon Arts Festival with a tint of Lord Berners. Several elements during the festival reflect on the life and times of Lord Berners. This includes a first reading of Faringdon Follies: The Making of a Grand Eccentric a new play by Bob Canning. It is also fitting that the Folly Tower, built 75 years ago and now both a local landmark and, in many ways, the focal point of Faringdon, is open for three days during the festival.

Faringdon Arts Festival 2010 includes events covering a wide range of arts genres and incorporates an interesting mix of national and local artistic talent. We are pleased to offer our town for their performance and display - and opportunities for you to enjoy vibrant and exciting performances, exhibitions, demonstrations, talks and workshops. Various arts displays are accessible for most of the week and weekend. The Market Place Stage features some of the area's young talent, plus top pop and rock bands who will play late into the evening on Friday and Saturday. A wide variety of music will be performed at various venues including All Saints Church, the Corn Exchange and local hostelries. Town Park is the site for Faringdon Fringe events organised by younger members of the team. Paul Cornell has volunteered to take the stage again to introduce, and keep you informed about acts and activities throughout the weekend.
