The Abbey, Sutton Courtenay is a retreat and conference centre, set in four acres of gardens. The Abbey is a Grade 1 listed Medieval building built around a central courtyard, with a stunning Great Hall and a variety of attractive public rooms. The atmosphere of stillness and receptivity offers a harmonious space for people who wich to come on retreat, and provides a relaxed and welcoming environment for groups and organizations.

The Abbey can cater for groups of up to 35 (seated) or 80 buffet style. Residential accommodation is available for a maximum of 19 people. Guests are welcome to walk in the grounds and there are attractive walks along the nearby River Thames.

Road Directions

The Abbey is situated off the village green, opposite the Swan Pub in Sutton Courtenay. The Abbey is within 30 minutes of the M4 J13 (via A34, exit at Milton Interchange and go through village of Milton to Sutton Courtenay) and 30 minutes from the M40 J7 (via Little Milton, Stadhampton and Clifton Hampden, and the off the A415 to Abingdon). Sutton Courtenay is 4 miles from Abingdon and 10 miles south of Oxford.

Public Transport Directions

The nearest station is Didcot Parkway (45 minutes from London Paddington or 1hour 40 minutes from Birmingham). Taxis are available from Didcot Station (10 minutes away) the fare is £9-£10 one way.
