The Vale of White Horse is the ideal place for horse riding. There are a number of stables and riding schools that cater for beginners as well as more experienced riders.

BridlewayFor information about riding schools that are approved by the British Horse Society visit the British Horse Society website.

Horse riding is permitted on the western part of the long distance Ridgeway National Trail. In the west the Ridgeway travels as a broad ancient track along the open and fairly isolated top of the chalk downland ridge, often several miles from the nearest village. Here, to the south is rolling downland and to the north, at the bottom of the steep scarp slope, the wide expanse of the Thames Valley and the Vale of White Horse.

Horse riders are well catered for and accommodation is available for horses as well as riders. For more information about accommodation with stabling for horses visit the National Trail website.
