Fishing in the Vale of White Horse

If your passion is for river fishing then the River Thames is an angler's paradise. The river flows from the Cotswolds, through to Abingdon (the Vale's largest town) and beyond. In Abingdon there have been a number of recent improvements to the access to the river for fishing. There are now two angling platforms that are suitable for wheelchair users. The platforms can also be used to teach children about fishing.
Any one from the age of 12 and over; fishing for salmon, trout, freshwater fish or eels in England must have the Environment Agency rod licence. Rod licences can be purchased from any Post Office or over the Internet. For more information visit the Environment Agency website.
A valid permit and rod licence is required by everyone in order to fish from the banks and from on board boats.
No fishing between 15 March and 16 June.
